How to Measure

The measurements provided in the table above are measured in two ways:

  1. Circumference (around the garment):
    1. "Chest" is measured around the garment at the bottom seam of the sleeves.
    2. "Bottom Width" is measured around the garment at the bottom of the hem.
    3. This should be measured with a sewing tape or other flexible measuring tape and should be done while wearing the garment, you may need assistance.
    4. If you lack a sewing tape or other flexible measuring tape - circumference measurements can also be done linear, by laying the garment flat and measuring the garment as depicted in the image above.
      1. Measure the "Chest" at the bottom seam of the sleeves, start at the left seam and measure across to the right seam.
      2. Measure the "Bottom Width" at the bottom of the hem, start at the left seam and measure across to the right seam.
      3. Take your "Chest" and "Bottom Width" measurements and multiply them by 2 and it should match the sizing chart.
      4. EXAMPLE (inches): The OBSIDIAN PRISM - Men's Classic Fit Short-Sleeve Polo Shirt in XL shows on the size chart a "Chest" measurement of 48 inches and "Bottom Width" measurement of 48 inches, to check this you would lay the garment flat, measure left to right from the seams as described in Points 2 and 3 above, which should yield a measurement of 24 inches across for both "Chest" and "Bottom Width", you multiply these measurements by 2 and you would be left with a measurement of 48 inches in circumference for both "Chest" and "Bottom Width" measurements.
  2. Linear (straight across/up-and-down):
    1. The garment is laid flat and is measured, as depicted in the image above.
    2. "Shoulder To Shoulder" is measured straight across, left to right, from the top seam of the sleeves, as depicted in the picture above.
    3. "Back Length" is measured top to bottom, up-and-down, from the neckline seam at/under the collar of the shirt to the bottom of the hem.
